San Juan River Fly Fishing – DFF006

I recently reconnected with a high school classmate from San Ildefonso Pueblo and found out he likes to fly fish just like I do. After talking we planned a trip to both of our favorite place, the San Juan River. He was itching to get up there since the dry fly action was picking up and the temperatures were getting cooler. We headed up on October 4, 2010.

He caught several trout on a very small (size 24) griffith’s gnat & parachute adams, while I caught some trout on size 26 midge patterns with a bit of flash in the Texas Hole.

It was just a day trip and we had a blast. I also had the chance to video some new areas of the San Juan River included below.

Enjoy!
